The spinning process includes eight steps, including impurities removal, loosening, loosening, carding, combing, drafting, twisting and winding.

Spinning is the study of spinning short fibers into yarns. Yarns are usually made by splice of many short fibers of varying lengths, or by twisting of very long continuous monofilaments.In the process of spinning, it is necessary to remove imperfections first, that is, to carry out the preliminary processing of raw materials, also known as the preparation of spinning raw materials.Different kinds of raw materials, different kinds and properties of impurities, processing methods and technologies are also different.The primary processing methods of raw materials mainly include physical methods (such as cotton ginning), chemical methods (such as hemp degumming, silk scouring) and the combination of physical and chemical methods (such as wool washing and carbonization).


In order to process the disordered and closely connected fibers into the longitudinal sequence and smooth yarn with certain requirements, it is necessary to change the lumpy fibers into single fibers, remove the horizontal connection existing in the fiber raw materials, and establish a firm longitudinal connection from the beginning to the end.The former is called the release of the fibers and the latter is called the collection of fibers.Fiber release is to completely remove the transverse connection between fibers.But the damage to the fibers must be minimized.The assembly of fibers is to make the disassembled fibers reestablish the longitudinal connection in order. This connection is continuous, and the distribution of fibers in the assembly body should be uniform, and have a certain linear density and strength at the same time.Fiber assembly, also need to add a certain twist.The assembly process is not completed at one time, through carding, drafting and twisting several times to complete.


To loosen is to tear large fibers into small pieces or bundles.Broadly speaking, hemp degumming is also a kind of open loose.As the opening and loosening process proceeds, the bond between the fiber and the impurity is weakened, so that the impurity is removed, and the mixing between the fibers is achieved.The removal of the opening and loosening action and impurities is not completed at one time, but through the reasonable configuration of tearing, striking and segmentation and other functions to realize gradually.


The carding effect is that a large number of dense carding needles on the carding machine further loosen the small pieces and bundles of fibers into a single state, thus further improving the fiber loosening.After carding, the transverse connection between the fibers is basically removed, and the effect of impurity removal and mixing is more sufficient.But a lot of the fibers are curved.There is a curved hook, and there is a certain transverse connection between each fiber.



The combing function of the combing machine is to use the combs to carry out more detailed combing for the two ends of the fiber under the holding state.Combing machine processing can eliminate the short fiber and fine defects below a certain length, and make the fiber more parallel and straight.Chemical fiber because of its neat length, less impurities, straight parallel state is good, generally not through the processing of comber.


The strip after carding is drawn long and thin, gradually reaching a predetermined thickness, this process is called drafting.It has laid a foundation for firmly establishing regular connection between the fibers.However, drawing will bring uneven short segments of yarn, so it is necessary to configure reasonable drafting device and process parameters.


Twisting is to twist the whisker around its own axis, so that the fibers parallel to the axial direction of the whisker are helical, thereby generating radial pressure to fix the longitudinal connection between the fibers.


The winding of semi-finished or finished products into a form that is convenient for storage, transportation and processing in the next process is called winding.The winding process should be carried out continuously without affecting the output and quality of products, and efforts should be made to achieve continuous production between various processes to reduce the quality problems caused by the winding process as far as possible.

In summary, the spinning process generally consists of raw material preparation, unwinding, carding, impurities removal, blending, drafting, blending, twisting, and winding, some of which are accomplished by repeated processes.
