Cotton socks with a cotton content of more than 75% can be called cotton socks, and socks with a cotton content of 85% are very high-grade cotton socks. The shortcomings of pure cotton fabric are not resistant to sunlight, easy to yellow, poor elasticity, easy to wrinkle, mildew, wear resistance. Therefore, cotton socks also need to add some functional fibers to maintain the elasticity, fastness and comfort of the socks. Spandex, nylon, acrylic, polyester and so on are very common functional fibers.

Spandex is commonly known as elastic fiber, with high elasticity and strong scalability, its stretched length can reach 5-7 times that of the raw fiber, adding spandex textile products can maintain the original outline. The ingredients of socks must contain spandex to make the socks produce elasticity and retraction, easier to wear, but also make the socks more stick to the feet. So spandex is an essential ingredient in almost all socks. This fiber can be stretched very easily, but after recovery can be close to the surface of the human body, the binding force on the human body is very small. Spandex can be used with any fabric, including wool, linen, silk and cotton, to increase the fabric's close-fitting, elastic and loose natural characteristics, and feel flexible when moving.

Jinlun (Jinlun/Polyamide) The scientific name of polyamide fiber. Nylon is strong and wear-resistant, and is the most wear-resistant and strongest of synthetic fibers. The weight is very light, the elasticity is good, and the addition of nylon in the socks can maintain high strength elasticity. Nylon is the main material of almost all stretch socks. Note that the D in stretch socks refers to the textile density, usually the greater the number of thickness and pressure. For health considerations, high D number of elastic socks should not be worn for a long time.

Acrylic (Acrylic) Chinese transliteration acrylic, acrylic is called polyacrylonitrile in our country, it is soft, light, warm, said of "artificial wool", its weight is more than 10% lighter than wool, but the strength is more than twice. It does not grow moldy or get eaten by insects, and is twice as resistant to sunlight as wool and 10 times as resistant to cotton. In the 1970s and 1980s, what southern women called "bulky wool" was acrylic. The plush, known as acrylic fiber, was particularly light and soft, and was deeply loved by people at that time. However, acrylic plants have a very big disadvantage is that it is easy to pilling, poor wear resistance, and acrylic is added to the fabric in order to enjoy its soft and warm characteristics. In fact, the fiber mixed with acrylic and cashmere wool is also called wool nitrile, which was a very popular yarn variety in the 1970s and 1980s, because both acrylic and wool have excellent thermal properties. It's hard to imagine that bathtubs and costume socks are made of acrylic. The biggest difference is that the bathtub is made of acrylic, while the clothing socks are made of acrylic, such as warm pantyhose in spring and autumn and winter.

Polyester/polyester (Polyster), compared with natural fibers, polyester has good elasticity and looseness, woven socks are lighter. People used to wear cool shirts just to enjoy their lightness. However, polyester has low moisture content, poor air permeability, poor dyeing, easy to pilling, easy to stain. But polyester is cheap and is the first choice for cheap socks.

Bamboo Fibre is a kind of viscose fiber. The raw material of bamboo fiber comes from bamboo, because the regeneration of bamboo is much faster than that of wood, so it has good environmental protection characteristics in this contemporary society of industrial production. Bamboo fiber fabric also has the characteristics of soft and elegant, comfortable feel, and wear-resistant ball, moisture absorption, quick drying and breathable. It is different from cotton, wood and other viscose fibers in that it has good antibacterial properties and health care. Bamboo fiber contains an antibacterial substance called "Zhukun", which has natural antibacterial, anti-mite, anti-odor drug properties, in addition, the ultraviolet penetration rate of bamboo fiber is 0.6%, which is 41.6 times that of cotton, and is a very good raw material for anti-UV fabrics. The antioxidant compounds in bamboo can effectively remove free radicals in the body and have anti-aging biological effects. Contains a variety of essential amino acids, and bamboo cellulose, bamboo dense, pectin with moisturizing skin and anti-fatigue effect; It can increase the microcirculation blood flow of the human body, activate tissue cells, make the human body produce warm effect, can effectively regulate the nervous system, dredge the meridians to improve the quality of sleep.
