Development and application of fancy yarn: Chenille yarn

Time : 2021-12-27 Hits : 9

Chenille yarn is a kind of fancy yarn with special shape and structure. It is usually spun by twisting two strands of yarn as Core yarn and sandwiching the feather yarn in the middle. Chenille yarn is composed of core thread and broken velvet fiber. The broken velvet fiber forms a plush effect on the outside, while the core thread consolates and protects the broken velvet fiber and maintains the strength of the product. The core wires are generally strands with good strength, such as acrylic fiber and polyester fiber, and there are also cotton threads with large twist as core wires. The broken velvet materials are mainly viscose fibers and cotton fibers with soft and good moisture absorption and dispersion, and fluffy and soft acrylic fibers can also be used.

The most common "velvet/core" material combinations of Chenille yarn include viscose fiber/acrylic, cotton/polyester, viscose fiber/cotton, acrylic/polyester, etc. Due to the processing characteristics, Chenille yarn is generally thick and its linear density is more than 100 Tex. Chenille yarn is generally used only as weft in woven fabrics because of its high linear density and dense surface.

Spinning principle of Chenille yarn

Conveying and positioning of core wire: in the spinning process, the core wire is divided into upper core wire and lower core wire, which are unwound from the bobbin and fed together under the action of the traction roller. Under the action of roller piece and spacer piece, the upper and lower core wires are placed on both sides of the down yarn, and both are in the middle position of the down yarn.

Introduction and cutting of down yarn: down yarn is composed of two or three single yarns. The single yarns are rewound from the bobbin and twisted with the high-speed rotation of the turning head, which increases the down yarn's bunching property. At the same time, it is wound on the separation plate to form a yarn ring, and the yarn ring slides downward with the rotation of the roller plate. When the blade is cut into short feathers, these short feathers are sent into the control roller together with the upper core wire, and the lower core wire.

Twisting and forming: with the high-speed rotation of the spindle, the core yarn is quickly twisted, by twisting the core yarn and the down yarn firmly together to form a full-fledged chenille yarn; At the same time, it is wound on the yarn tube to form tube yarn.

Chenille has a soft and velvety feel and is widely used in fleece and decorative fabrics. It can also be used directly as a braided thread. Chenille can give the product a thick feeling, so that it has the advantages of high-end luxury, soft feel, plump suede, good drape, so it is widely made into sofa covers, bedspreads, bed blankets, table blankets, carpets, wall ornaments, curtains and other interior decorations as well as a variety of knitted clothing products.

The pros and cons of chenille

Advantages: The fabric made of Chenille yarn has many advantages, the curtain made of it can reduce light, shade, to adapt to people's different needs for light, but also can be windproof, dust, heat insulation, warm, noise, improve the climate and environment of the room. Accordingly, adornment sex and practical clever union, it is the biggest characteristic of chenille gauze curtain. Carpet made of chenille yarn has the function of temperature regulation, anti-static, good moisture absorption, can absorb 20 times its own weight of water.

Disadvantages: Fabric made of Chenille yarn has some disadvantages due to the characteristics of its material. For example, it will shrink after cleaning, so it cannot be smootened by ironing, so as to avoid falling down and messy chenille fabric, especially the front of the product, which will greatly reduce the ornamental quality of chenille products.
