Time : 2022-12-16 Hits : 31

Nylon, the scientific name is polyamidefibre. It is the world's earliest synthetic fiber variety, because of its excellent performance, rich raw material resources, has been widely used.

Nylon is the United States outstanding scientist Carothers and under the leadership of a scientific research team developed, is the world's first synthetic fiber. The appearance of nylon makes the textile look completely new, its synthesis is a major breakthrough in the synthetic fiber industry, but also a very important milestone in polymer chemistry.

In 1935, the polymer was prepared with adipic acid and adipic diamine as raw materials. Because the two components both contained 6 carbon atoms, it was called polymer 66 at that time. He melted the polymer and pressed it out with an injection needle, stretching it under tension and calling it a fiber. This fiber is polyamide 66 fiber, named Nylon after the industrialization in 1939, is the earliest synthetic fiber variety to realize industrialization.

From this comes the name nylon. The nylon polymerized by lactam ring-opening is called nylon. For example, PA6 is obtained by the ring-opening polymerization of caprolactam. The polymer obtained from the condensation of dibasic acid and dibasic amine is called nylon mn, where m represents the number of carbon atoms in the main chain part of the dibasic amine, and n represents the number of carbon atoms in the main chain part of the dibasic acid. For example, PA610 is obtained from the condensation of sebacic acid and adipdiamine. It is expressed by the abbreviation of repeated diamine or diacid, such as m-benzodimethylamine is referred to as MXDA, so the polymer of m-benzodimethylamine and adipic acid is called nylon MXD6.

Advantages of nylon

Strong strength, good wear resistance, the first among all fibers. Its wear resistance is 10 times that of cotton fiber, 10 times that of dry viscose fiber and 140 times that of wet fiber. As a result, its durability is excellent.

The elasticity and resilience of nylon fabric is very good, but it is easy to deform under small external force, so the fabric is easy to wrinkle in the process of wearing.

Poor ventilation, easy to produce static electricity.

The hygroscopic property of nylon fabric is a better variety in synthetic fiber fabric, so clothing made of nylon is more comfortable than polyester clothing.

It has good resistance to cavities and corrosion.

Heat resistance and light resistance are not good enough, ironing temperature should be controlled below 140℃. Pay attention to washing and maintenance conditions in the process of wearing, so as not to damage the fabric.

Nylon fabric is a lightweight fabric, only listed in the synthetic fiber fabric after polypropylene, acrylic fabric, therefore, suitable for mountaineering clothing, winter clothing.

The main uses of nylon

Its main uses can be divided into three areas: clothing and apparel, industrial and decorative carpets:

Garment fibre

Nylon can be woven into pure fabrics or used as a raw material for woven, knitted and weft fabrics after treatments such as deformation and flexing.nylon can be woven into pure fabric, or it can be changed into nylon fdy yarn, nylon dty yarn, nylon spandex covered yarn andnylon industrial yarnafter being deformed and bent, etc. It is used as an ingredient for woven, knitted and weft fabrics.

Industrial fibre

With high wet and dry strength and corrosion resistance, it is an ideal material for manufacturing industrial press cloth and paper felt.

Nylon cord tire plays an important role in automobile manufacturing industry. Compared with other types of cord fabrics, due to their high strength, elongation and breaking work, so it

They can withstand the speed and weight of cars at high speeds. Tested these three elements and uneven road surface are less likely to cause tire cracking.

It is durable, soft and lightweight, and can be used in fishing nets, ropes and safety nets.

It is also widely used in various industrial supplies, such as drive belts, fire hoses, sewing thread, safety belts and parachutes.

Carpet fibre

The amount of nylon used in carpets is increasing year by year. Especially because of the development of new technology, nylon has special functions, such as antistatic and flame retardant. In addition, the brigade

The tourism and housing booms have also contributed to the increase in carpet fibres. In recent years, with the rapid development of nylon bulk filament production, the large area of full cover carpet is mainly made of nylon tufted carpet, which has various styles and broad development prospects.
